I posted this in another thread so I'm copying it here... Make sure you have an armrest in the hot tub so your back isn't hitting the coping. Also, if the hot tub is flush, put a step. It's typically 21" or so inches from your deck to the hot tub seat. That's not easy to manage when drinking.

I'll also add that another posted mentioned they only have about a 1' of water from the seat up. You need about 18" of from the top of the seat to the water level. My pool seats are 15" and I wish they were also deeper.

Floating Change Up

Solid post with a lot of good info.

This is something I wish I knew in advance.
quote:

Since you have 3 basic light zones and 6 total lights -- here's my suggestion. Get the builder to wire the lights into as many zones as possible (individually is more expensive, but my preference). The idea here is, if all of your lights are on a single zone, they're going to be all the same color at the same time. If you set up multiple zones, you'll be able to set up theme-style colors easier (LSU colors during game parties?). This is more of a "Man, I wish I had done that" type of thing.

I have four lights in my pool. When my builder said I could have all kinds of colors in the pool, I thought he meant at the same time. That is not the case, b/c my lights are all wired together. At some point in the future, I'd like to separate it into multiple circuits so I can change it up.

Taylor K2005 Swimming Pool Chlorine Bromine Alkalinity Hardness pH DP Test Kit

Check your water yourself...Stores rape you.

Use Jacks Magic Blue Stuff Monthly for metal stains/scale.

Check your water once a month. Hardness,Alkalinty, CYA, Phosphate,PH, Chlorine. These chemicals move slow.
Except PH and Chlorine.

Check Chlorine and PH twice weekly in between month checks.

Also look into a commercial pool heater instead of residential. They dont cost much more but last longer. They can handle the chemical swings better.

Maintain pool year round....Easier in my opinion

Just my advice....Pool Owner...
