The "new" banner isn't working

On certain boards, they don't let me know which threads are new and which ones have had new posts since the last time I viewed the page.

I cleared my browser history and it seems to have worked. But then it started doibg it again and it has changed which boards.
It's weird that it'll do it on some boards but not others.
