To the Most Esteemed Keepers of the Forum,

Humbly and with due reverence do I lay quill to parchment, beseeching thee to give ear unto a matter most grievous and pressing. For lo, the chambers of the Rant have grown loud beyond measure, filled with ceaseless lamentation and unbridled clamor touching upon the contests and affairs of Men’s Basketball.

Day upon weary day, the commons are beset with railing tongues and vexed spirits, each disputing calls, coaches, players, and fortunes of the court. What once served as a hall for sundry grievances hath become nigh overrun with dribblings and disputations of the bouncing ball. Verily, the noise thereof drowneth all other discourse, and many a gentle soul doth wander bewildered amidst the tumult.

Wherefore I most earnestly entreat thee: grant unto these fervent devotees a chamber of their own, Men’s Basketball Board, wherein they may with full liberty contend, rejoice, bewail, and proclaim their passions without encumbering the general assembly. There may they debate rankings and reckonings, praise their champions, and decry their rivals to their hearts’ content, and none shall say them nay.

Such a board would bring order where now is chaos, peace where now is discord, and fitting separation betwixt the manifold interests of this noble fellowship. Each matter would find its proper home, and harmony be restored unto our discourse.

I pray thee consider this petition with wisdom and favour. May prudence guide thy counsel, and may tranquility once more dwell within our halls.
