Was having chest pains about a year ago that would come and go. At first I went to the ER because of course chest pains should be taken seriously, but everything was normal (troponin, x-ray, bloodwork, and so on). Did testing at the cardiologist and it revealed some inflammation.

Now it seems the chest pains are back but unlike last time I don’t feel anything when I lie flat (which you normally do when you have pericarditis).

Has anyone else ever had it? I’m so sick of this *, can’t live a normal life

You sure it isn’t nerve pain?

The nerve from your shoulder blade and runs into your chest could be acting up. I’ve had it a couple times and is scary at first. Same here when I would lie flat it stopped…

Usually took a couple weeks to stop

This was me. I thought it was chest (heart) related. Turns out it was shoulder.

So finally went to my cardiologist and got an echo plus a basic exam. Heart “looks beautiful” and functions just fine.

But I did have pericarditis without pericardial effusion (without fluid around the heart I believe). So that’s that.

Maybe it’s what you guys are saying. It’s just so hard not to worry that it’s not something cardiac/pericarditis when I feel any kind of sharp chest sensations.
