Start downswing with your legs. Arms should feel lazy, loose or even dead.

Get by a mirror and have it behind you.
Take a backswing and make sure the clubhead is covering your hands when you take it back.
Good chance you are sucking the club way inside on the takeaway and your body has no where to go but over the top on way down.
Backswing feeling is straight back with a little bit of lift with the arms.

Ernie has a really efficient backswing.

Kuchar sucks it inside but its harder to get back to the right spot and slot it doing it this way.

Your slice could be coming from grip, ball position, posture, bla, bla, bla... but regardless, a slice is caused by an out to in path with an open face. Truthfully though, and I know it's a tired response but it's still true, you really should seek out a few lessons. Most all swing faults occur either at setup or before you ever make it to shaft parallel during the takeaway. Whatever you're doing from the top down is a reaction to what you've done from the bottom up. Without seeing your swing at least on video, blindly asking for swing tips isn't going to get you far.

My issue was my grip with my left hand. Rounded my thumb over a little past middle of the grip to encourage turning the club head over on the follow through and I immediately straightened up.
