Dollar General has a deal for 15% off Xbox $50 gift cards. In theory you could buy 6 and get a series s for 15% off or 10 and 15% off the X. I would also think you could buy the gift cards and do the installment plan and have the money come off the gift cards (I'm not positive about the last bit since I think the money comes from a 3rd party but you are paying for gamepass plus the extra for the console so maybe).

I don't think you can buy the system with XBox gift cards. I believe you ould need Microsoft gift cards as you'd be purchasing through the Microsoft store.

I could certainly be wrong. I'm just suggesting someone test this theory before buying a bunch of gift cards they might not be able to use for this purpose.

ETA: I can confirm that you definitely cannot use them for All Access. You don't pay XBox or Microsoft for those payments.

Per Slickdeals I think this should work. Here is a link from Microsoft saying that Microsoft and Xbox cards work the same. But I haven't actually tested it yet. I think the Microsoft store only has the series S in stock.

I was wondering if that was the hold up. I'll change the title to reflect Series S only.

Awesome. In that case, then this should definitely work. Someone could also snag a bunch of these and just hold them till the Microsoft store has Series Xs in stock, but that's a gamble due to expiration dates on the gift cards unless something changes soon with this whole chip shortage thing.
