The PS2 did well because of it's game library which is the same reason the 360 is beating the PS3. So we have the PS2 with a great game library and it flew off the shelves. The PS3 doesn't have a great game library and it sits in stores and collects dust. Do you see a pattern? Great games = great sales.
It sits on the shelf because it's overpriced and has a limited selection of exclusive titles.

No game is worth buying an entire system.
Yes. I bought a PS3 a year ago when they first announced GoW 3 and a 360 for Left 4 Dead and don't regret either. I needed a new DVD player anyway so the PS3 was a nice buy.

They're game systems. The games are what people care about. All the frills don't sell game systems games do.
360=Gaming System
PS3=Entertainment System

You get more for your money with a PS3.

see, i have no desire to play god of war 3 and wasn't into god of war 2 :-P but yeah, like you said it's all a matter of preference. technically, though, one can play gow1, mass effect 1 and 2, and the halo games on the pc. and ninja gaiden 2 is being ported to the ps3.

See, there's another way we are different. I would NEVER attempt to play an action game on a PC. I like my games to run smooth and have decent graphics. Also, I like to be able to put a game in and start playing. I don't want to have to download 3 patches and new drivers every time I buy a game. The only kind of game worth playing on a PC is a RTS game.
