HyperX Stinger Headset Issues - Echo During Party Chat

'Morning Gents,
I've got a HyperX Stinger headset for gaming on XBone. The sound is fine, but when playing in a party my teammates say that they can here their gameplay and chat through my mic. It only happens when i have the volume turned up to my comfortable level.. When i turn it down, there is no echo... But it's too low for gameplay. Before you ask, the sound on my monitor IS turned off...
I've tried unplugging it to see if there is a connection issue, and it usually fixes it for a few minutes, but then it reverts to the same issue...
Yesterday i purchased the HyperX Cloud Alpha headset to try as an upgrade, and i had the same issue... So I'm returning it today.
Is this a HyperX issue? Or a controller issue?
Do you have a suggestion on a new headset to try out in the $100 range?

Might have to turn down the mic sensitivity settings on the Xbox
eta: Fwiw I play on PS4 and idk if that's a thing or not on the Xbox.

Thanks. Not sure if XB has those settings or not.. I'll look into it this afternoon.
