Cross-gen Question

Target has a preorder for a physical cross gen copy of MW2. It says disc version of the ps5 is needed. Is this just to download the game? I’m asking because I’d like to play with my kid while I’m on the 5 and he’s on the 4 and wondering if that is possible.

If you buy the disc version, the disc has to be in the console for the game to work.

i'm wrong. it specifically states a PS5 with a disc drive is required. basically meaning the PS4 disc will need to be in the PS5 to play. he's going to need two copies of the game to play with his kid.

Thanks guys. This is what I was worried about. At least we’d be able to play warzone.
