Can I use any usb 3 Drive with my Xbox one?

Running out of space and just curious if I can use any usb 3.0 Drive with my Xbox one rather than purchasing a “Xbox one compatible” drive. What are this boards thoughts?

Yes you can. Just need to format it for XBox first. There are tutorials online you can find.
ETA: If it's brand new the Xbox should format it when you plug it in. Will have to choose if it's for music or games.
