Depends on if you are willing to go RP with folks or if you want to play the game and make money etc.

GTA is a completely different animal. The best server i found for RP was immenseRP just for the community. Had a mafia style gang of 20+ daily players. We eventually owned vanilla unicorn and Hayes body shop. Leader winds up banned over petty BS and we all left.

They said we were the best gang... brought the best RP... but we submitted too many reports andnit was stressing the staff out... in other words being good RPers and trying to hold others to the same standard according to their own rules was a bad thing?

It's very hard to find a good server with a good staff that doesnt admin abuse or isn't a money grab. They are expensive to run so i fully support some sort of patreon support... just not blatant " pay $200 a month and get free badass weapons and super ammo nobody else can buy"

Red dead is a lot better with low population, provided you like red dead.

The map is bigger, but that's a good thing if you are role playing that you have to travel by horseback everywhere. It takes you 15 minutes to travel the whole map vs on GTA wherebit takes 5 minutes... but you're also in a car going 150mph. You really only need about 1/5th of the players to make a red dead RP server good. Especially since the player base itself is much smaller. Where you'll see 50 diferen4 FiveM servers at max population of 200, you may only see 3-5 RedM with full pop.

The server mentioned has struggled to get the return players anticipated. We shot up from 50-100 discord members but peak population has been around 6-7.

Im hoping they remove the whitelist and just make it greylist or discord allowed in order to boost the population, then tighten up when average pop isnclpser to 30 There's a ton of potential with lots of good scripts.


ROCKSTAR purchased cfx.re, which is what is used for the custom servers, so we are hoping that ss soon as GTA6 launches private and custom servers will be availabl3 immediately instead of an extra year or two wait.
