Toronto food/drink recs

Heading to Toronto the first week of October for a conference. Staying at the Fairmont downtown. Have done some research and found lots of places that look good. Coming to F&D to ask for any personal recs from people who have been. I am open to all cuisines and price points.

Canoe is a must...its on 54th story of TD Bank Tower. Others are:

Trinity-Bellwoods is a cool neighborhood. Gia and Union are good options for dinner and La Cubana is an old-school Cuban diner that's good for lunch. For drinks, Bellwoods is a good brewery and Mother makes fantastic cocktails.
Fashion District is also a worthy area to check out for bars/restaurants - Chica, Mira and Rodney's Oyster House are all great options.
If you swing up to Little Italy, Bar Raval is a fun spot. Gets a little crowded, but a cool bar area and plenty of tables to sit and enjoy food+drink. Couple blocks away is Birreria Volo - one of the best beer bars in Toronto. Really solid list of rotating taps and cellar list always stocked with Cantillon.
