Been to AJax before.
Thanks. Geaux. Tigahs.

Taylor Grocery
City Grocery
Snackbar
Handy Andy is a hole in the wall personal favorite bbq/burgers for lunch
Cash only
Pro tip --- if you wake up early enough Saturday or Sunday swing by "Lindsey's" Chevron off the square by the Graduate Hotel. Get the fried pork tenderloin, egg, and cheese biscuit. Have to be there before 8-8:30

My advice is plan on eating early or find someplace outside of oxford....the wait time is forever...not that many places in the oxford for a big weekend game meal

Snackbar is still around? I used to love their steak sandwich

I don’t remember Handy Andy being cash only but I haven’t been in a couple of years. Maybe the best burger I’ve ever had but I don’t recommend it on a big weekend unless you go at a weird time.
Try to hit up more off the beaten path type places suggested in here or whatever you find on Yelp/Trip Advisor (Rice and Spice, B’s BBQ, Volta, etc), anything on the square will be pure hell unless you get there early for lunch on Friday.

Handy Andy's take cards and is one of the best Burgers I've ever had.
Good luck getting into Taylor Grocery, but if you get there early it's damn good catfish. The sides are all great too, which is normally a complaint of mine at other catfish places.
Avoide Boure IMO. It's quite average to me. Good sandwiches at lunch though.
City has always been really good to great.
Snackbar has always been great. The Chef at Snackbar just won a James Beard award after being nominated 4 times.
Lenora's is an underrated place. Not as nice as City or SB, but solid food and not quite as expensive.
McEwin's is one of my favorites. Never had a bad meal here. Nicer place.
St Leo is an upscale pizza joint that has been nominated for a James Beard award. Not a lot of seating, so expect a long wait at night, but it's been good every time I've gone. Not your everyday pizzas either.
There is a new place called Julip that is owned by the guy who owns Oxford Grillhouse. Heard good things, but I've not tried it yet. They do food "flights." Think proteins served three different ways in smaller portions than just one big portion.
If you want Sushi, Jensei is pretty damn good and usually has cuts of fish you don't see at normal sushi places if you're into Nigeri/Sashimi. They usually have Tuna Belly and Salmon Belly, which I've not found anywhere else and it's like butter.
Tallahatchie Gormet is nothing super special but is a solid lunch.
If you want to go off the beaten path, check out The Ravine and Grit (in Taylor). Both are nicer places that I would put at about the City Grocery level as far as how good the food is.
Snackbar is probably the constantly the best meal in Oxford, although my single best meal I remember was at City Grocery, but I've had some there that didn't blow me away.
Also, I've noticed all the places tend to lack a little on plating and such on weekends like this as everywhere will be on a 2 hour plus wait and they are just trying to get people in and out as quickly as possible.
Obviously this is all just my opinion.

Town pretty much blows, also not big enough to handle football crowds. Eat in Memphis

I don't know how it is anymore, but I could put down 2 pounds of their potato salad. The side of rice with mushrooms in it they used to do was really good too
