How do I get Arizona State to look like the UGA plaque?

For example, I want Arizona to be the redish/orange padauk wood, with the trident being the Curly Maple and Peruvian Walnut. Is it possible to "paint" using the textures of the UGA plaque?

This shouldn't be very difficult. If no one has done this for you by the time I get home in about an hour, I'll take a shot.

Did you just erase the maroon part and put the GA part over it? I was going to go that route I just don't know if there's an easier way

Are you using gimp? I would have used select by color on the Arizona plaque to select just the maroon, then the clone tool to clone the grain of the Georgia plaque into the selected area. there might be a better way to do it though.

I may have taken the long away around doing it, and there
might be an easier way, but I've always "sort of" figured
it out on my own since I've been working with Photoshop.

This isn't the same grain pattern as the UGA plaque, but
it's more of an example of how it can be done.

What I did basically is copied the image to Photoshop
and made a copy of the image. (Two layers of the same
image). Then I found a Wood grain pattern using google
search of something close to the UGA plague. I copied
that image and pasted it between the two images. On the
Top layer of the ASU plaque, I selected the state outline
and just did a CUT to remove the state outline, and
that revealed the wood grain below in the outline of
the state. I then picked the woodgrain layer and made
it slightly transparent so that I could see the Trident
through it on the bottom layer (original image) and
erased the trident outline from the woodgrain image.

Flattened the image when it was erased and it looks like
the posted image above.

I've been using Photoshop Elements since I got into Farking
back around 2005 (or so) I started out with V 4.0 and
I'm now using V 7. (last time I upgraded).
