Can anybody help clean this up and maybe tweak it to look a little better? Also, if somebody can do some colors on it that would be awesome.
Colors are green, white, and silver.

Both. It will be the new logo for a school. Its an eagle with our letters VB in the middle by the way

Here's a copy filled in with color. It's sloppy but you can decide on the colors. Let me know what changes you want and I'll clean it up and save it vector file.

On the right track Here's a few things fixed that were slightly altered from my design, including the V extending in color with the top feather, the dip in the beak, the cross-top on the T.
Color scheme can be some creativity on your part on what looks best. I will try to find some color ones I did. (Just got my laptop charger)

Here's one option for color scheming. The newer design elements are current, this is only for coloring.
I will definitely need more color variations than this, most of those copies I made are with my athletic director though unfortunately.

I like puprock's general version. Here are some tweaks with most of what you asked for...everything except the dip in the beak, I believe.

These are pretty close and should help in the planning stages. I'm going to get a hold of my better work so I can translate my color vision for it a little bit better.
