Has anyone ever created a book cover before?

Anyone know how? I have gimp, but not the great skills like you guys. Anyone get paid for their skill here or is it just a great past time for yall?

I've done some commercial work though not much. The most important thing is you have to careful with sources. If it's logo work for commercial use, it has to be from scratch. If it's photo-manipuation, you have to either own the photos or they need to be stock-free images.

There are several actual graphic artists that post here and there stuff is incredible. I also have a close friend in the design industry and my work cannot even compare. I mostly do artwork because I enjoy it.

I've never worked on a book cover.
