GIMP Froze anyway to Save?

I didn't save a damn thing and I'm 8 layers deep 
. Anyway trick that may save it before doing a force quit other than just waiting an hour and praying?

started over and learned a lesson

GIMP is unstable and will F you every once in a while. Save ofter. I made a .gif over the weekend and once completed I wanted to add Deal With It, but GIMP wouldn't let me manipulate the image any further. First time It a happened to me. Usually it just locks up
