If you have someone in the RB slot, do they get points for catching too?

Yes--but and it goes by the WR settings. Also works with RBs/WRs being used as a QB.

So, waht does that mean?
You get the points no matter what or not? Basically, does it matter who I put in the RB/WR slot or does it not matter at all?

The ESPN scoring is categorized as :
+ Passing
+ Rushing
+ Receiving
+ Misc
+ Kicing
+ Team Defense / Special Teams (maybe more or less depending on your settings)
Say you have Reggie Bush slotted in a RB slot:
- If he throws a TD then he will be awarded points based on the settings in the 'Passing' section.
- if he catches a pass for 40 yards, then he will be awarded points based on the settings in the 'Receiving' section.
- if he returns a punt for a TD then he will be awarded points based on the settings in the 'Misc.' section.
etc. etc.
Same goes for a WR (e.g. Meachem being used to run the ball), QB (e.g. V.Young running the ball), and TE.
As for RB/WR, I almost always opt for the RB unless I have a really shitty RB3 and/or a stud WR3.

you put in either a RB or WR, you get the same points as if they were in their normal spot
