9-Team League??

We had one of the guys in my 10-team league back out and I'm currently debating between leaving it at a 9-team league or adding a random person to even it back out at 10.
I'm concerned with the logistics behind a 9-team league in terms of bye weeks and everything. Anyone have any experience/recommendations?

It'll take more work with the scheduling but it's possible. I would do everything in your power to add a 10th to reduce headaches, though.

Would someone be on by every week?

Have someone play against the League Average every week.
9 Teams Total Scores Added Up/9= LA

add a random person
or
just leave it as a team put it on autodraft and if anyone wants to trade make you the owner of the team and do what they did in the league and flip a coin as a yes or no system if its a good trade
or have an odd number of teams and uneven divisions

Would you have three divisions of three teams each?
Top of each division make the playoffs, as well the best remaining team (best record and total points for tie breaker).
And having the odd number team play against the league average each week, makes pretty good sense.
