Yeah. I love that country frick.

Beltre is rated higher overall by a good margin in every site I've visited. Of course, Rasmus is younger.

I would rather have Colby going forward.

Beltre sucks it up everytime he gets a big contract.

But there is the likelihood that if I like a deal thats bad for you.

Here are the rule changes that I've received so far. We should go ahead and start discussing these and perhaps voting on them soon. Also, we need to set a draft date and keeper deadline.

Amendment I:
Change draft order to a lottery style. The team with the worst record would get 16 balls in the lottery, while the team with the first would get just 1. Proponents of this amendment believe that it will help prevent teams from tanking down the stretch, since there is no guarantee that you would get the #1 pick in the draft. There is a website that supports this draft selection process: LINK

Amendment II:
Change trade voting process from lasting two days to lasting just one. Proponents of this amendment believe that two days is too long, and that everyone logs into the website on a daily basis anyway.

Amendment III:
Change entry fee from $60.00 to $100.00 starting in the 2012 season. The fee would remain $60.00 for the upcoming 2011 season. Proponents of this amendment argue that as competitive as this league is, there should be a greater reward to the winners.

If there are any other suggestions, please get them to me as soon as possible.

I have a question regarding the draft amendment. Should we still use a snake style, or use the standard style? To be honest, I think I'd prefer the standard style.

I. I think teams that don't make the playoffs should go into a lottery. The rest should be slotted in reverse-order of playoff finish.

Ii. Yes

IIi. No... Maybe n 2013 (& yes, I flip-flopped)

Redd why do you prefer standard over snake style? Doesn't snake make it fair for everyone involved?

I think snake makes sense in a non-keeper league. But, in a keeper league where you are basing the order on last year's record, standard makes more sense. There's no snake style in any professional sports.

Agreed. The more keepers you have the more sense standard makes.

In a 16 team 12 man keeper league, I have to agree with this one. I know some are going to be greedy, but to me this makes sense for TDBL.

What is standard style?

From reading - like real drafts? Team with the #1 pick has that same pick in every round?

If you pick 1st in the 1st round, then you pick 1st in every round, unless you trade a pick.

why would we switch to standard?

Why keep doing snake? The purpose of a snake draft is to make it fair for everyone when either:
A) Its a non-keeper league
or
B) It's the first year of a keeper league

After that, you are basing the order on the previous year's results. It makes sense to me to keep the order the same throughout the draft. IMO, getting the 1st and then the 32nd pick isn't an advantage over getting say the 16th followed by the 17th.

I agree with Honky that the non playoff teams only should be in lottery
