I've been on a remarkable run of neoclassics this week that've restored my awe of cinema

Not sure I've got anything to add to the list.
Joker is good, but super depressing too. So unless that's more your speed, I'd not recommend.

Even if you have, watch it again. It’s probably a top 10 all timer for me. Just really resonated.
CSB—I briefly met Ethan Hawke in Baton Rouge once. I figured most people probably either tell him how much they like Training Day or “O’ Captain My Captain” him. So I know him and Delpi and Linklater wrote Before Sunset together.
So I thought I’d be all cool and mention a more obscure, lower-budget film that he was obviously passionate about and I told him how much I loved it, and it may be my favorite film ending off all-time. I thought he’d really appreciate that, and we’d become BFFs.. He could not have cared any less less, gave me some generic “thank you” that was basically a nice version of “Cool Story, Bro.” I was crushed.
He was pleasant and super down to earth, though. Very gracious to the few people who recognized and approached him. Just a regular dude with his wife and 2 kids.

Two movies which I found surprisingly good were Ready Player One and Spiderman: Into the spiderverse
The former because as a child of the 80s it was awesome to see so many “classic“ references to games, movies and music. As for the spiderverse, while I am not a comic book guy, I do appreciate good writing and storytelling. I thought this movie knocked it out of the park on so many levels. Probably one of my top two or three superhero movies of all time.
Also, Safety Not Guaranteed. A low budget independent film with Aubrey Plaza. Of which I am a fan.

Yeah, I basically said screw it and just went ahead and added Before Sunrise to the queue, which I definitely have seen. Might as well watch them all together to get the full effect.

I completely agree that Lost in Translation is absolutely a classic. The others, maybe not so much, but we can disagree.
