The category was about long books, shown last week but I just watched it. I was certain of the $2,000 answer before the clue was read. Those of you who didn't watch the show - what would you go with?

There is only one answer to a question about long books :

War and Peace

It is the standard by which all other long books are judged.

That was on there, but either the $1,200 or $1,600 answer. The $2,000 answer is harder to come up with and arguably harder to read. One clue from Jeopardy question - the book spends 10 pages on the assembly of a bed. The title of the book and the fact that most people give up on it earns it the $2,000 spot.

Wasn’t that one Infinite Jest? Along with War and Peace, I figured that would be one of the answers before the category even started.

Jep, Infinite Jest. I was pretty confident of that being the $2,000 answer, without seeing the clue, which was:

"Nearly living up to its name, this novel by David Foster Wallace boasts nearly 1,100 pages, including 10 on the disassembly of a bed."

Was Count of Monte Christo on there? That’s definitely the longest book I’ve ever read cover to cover.
The one I read was like 1500 pages.

Yep, Count of Monte Cristo was one of them. I think it scored more points than War and Peace which is pretty famous for the length.
