Hollinger makes confusing claim that DJ Augustin should have been a Pel in the Jrue trade?

John reckons the Bucks should have signed Pat Connaughton with the MLE and signed DJ Augustin into cap-space, not vice versa, to take advange of all sorts of exceptions. But the FO is cheap and doesn't employ a capologist so this doesn't happen. Fair enough, that makes sense. Off to a good start.
Doing a complete logic 180, he quickly asserts DJ would have 'fit snugly into the Jrue Holiday trade with New Orleans as a sign-and-trade'. Come again? Why would the Bucks contract DJ then immediately piss him off? I don't remember them having to add more salary for the trade. Maybe he meant DJA as a replacement for Bledsoe or Hill? Not even a passing mention.
He also mentions Orlando sending us someone called Janis Timma so they could create a TPE or whatever. Who cares. Not me. Its all pretty stream of consciousness stuff by this point.
If anyone figures out the answers, please post them here. Maybe it's all correct and I'm the idiot. Everything's in play.

He probably means they could have done a S&T with Orlando and included it in the bigger Jrue trade. Not that he’d come to NO.
I didn’t read the article so maybe not but just based on your quote that’s probably what he meant.

So get Orlando involved in the trade too?

DJ would still be heading to Milwaukee, but as part of a deal with Orlando. He’s not suggesting that DJ would be going to New Orleans.
Not only did the Bucks FO frick up, but they fricked up multiple times trying to fix the original frick up. It’s embarrassing for a billion dollar enterprise to make mistakes that people on Twitter are pointing out for free.

How about you start with translating all your short hand abbreviations?

Nothing cryptic
Front Office
Mid Level Exception
DJ Agustin
Traded Player Exception

Thank you...
I’m assuming he meant replacing DJ for Bledsoe

Nah, he just worded the sentence pretty damn poorly. I'm sure it sounded magnificent in John's mind.
SLafourche sussed it out for me.
