I just finished Craig Taylor's Londoners and loved it.

Essentially, Taylor interviews anyone and everyone (the cab driver, the American tourist, the bank executive, the publican, the lawyer, the foreign-exchange student, the nail salon owner, the former homeless, etc.) about their perspective on the city of London. Do they love it? Hate it? What are their thoughts about it, its past, and its future.

quote:

The book contains 80 different stories written by Londoners and other associated with the city about their perspective on the city. Those who contributed to the book included the woman who voices station announcements on the London Underground, a man who plants trees along Oxford Street, a British Pakistani currency trader and a guardsman at Buckingham Palace

I'm wondering if a similar book about New Yorkers (or any other city honestly) exists. Can someone help me out here?
