That’s how every keeper league I’ve ever played in does it. It’s not like you’re keeping a ton of guys like that. Also causes teams to draft players they’re higher on a bit earlier. Not really dumb at all actually.

I have 7'th pick in first round.
We just did our lottery.
Now some will keep players selected in rnd one last year and previous.
Keepers are reported about a week or so before the draft
But you can pretty much call it.
