Going down in middle of August with a group of friends. 4 couples and 3 singles in our mid 30's, no kids. Rented a house on the beach at Palmilla Sur, looks to be about 20 minutes south of San Jose del Cabo. Nobody in group has ever been to the area.

First question is if a rental car/van is recommended. We'll definitely need to make some grocery/beer runs. Also I'm sure we'll want to check out Cabo San Lucas and San Jose.

Other interests are Restaurants, Fishing, Scuba/Snorkeling, Shopping, ATV's, jetskis, hanging out by the pool and beach at our house, and anything else recommended.

Taxis are everywhere. Uber is just starting up in Cabo also, you should have plenty of options.

Flora Farms. Probably one of the better restaurants I've been to.

Any scuba recommendations around Cabo. From what I’m finding Cabo Pulmo is the best place to dive in the area. Anybody have any experience diving in the area?

I thought the food was good, but it was the experience that made everything wonderful. Beautiful setting and gardens to walk around, shops on the property, walked by a truck being restored, etc.

I have no experience in SJD other than flying into airport as Cabo San Lucas is much more my scene.

Just got back Saturday from spending a week down there (my 14th trip to Cabo). It’s going to be very interesting to watch how the Uber/Taxi battles go down there. The taxi cartels have had a stranglehold for years on transportation and are not taking kindly to Uber. We used Uber a few times this trip but the drivers are very scared of the taxi drivers and try to drop you off around corners so that taxi drivers won’t see them. Mexican government is behind the Uber idea but it’s going to take time.
Uber drivers won’t take you airport as they are deathly afraid of driving that stretch and being caught by a cabbie and/or “inspector”

You’ve gotta be pushing double digits yourself. I met VaBuckeye down there last year.

I’d post some pics from the last trip if I knew how. Didn’t do much more than drinking and lounging. Did take the yacht out one day to watch some whales.

Found an AWESOME little bar I had previously missed called Uno Mas?
All drinks made with fresh fruit and are amazing (cheap too)

If anyone is ever looking for an amazing place to stay on Medano my friend owns three insane condos right on the beach that can be booked (he’s from Nola) Two LARGE penthouses and one villa. Also has yachts with captain and deckhand for fishing
