Going to Columbia at the end of June for work and taking the family with me. We will be in Columbia Mon-Wed, and then Myrtle Beach wed-sat. I've never been in the area, we are making the drive from LA.

Any heads up on some stuff (mainly in Columbia, since MB we are staying on the beach) for my wife to do with the kids for a few days while I'm working would be appreciated.

Riverbank zoo and discovery place. Riverwalk is nice as well. They can climb on all of the rocks and swim. Drink a few beers in the Williams Brice parking lot.

MB is the tourist destination. Cherry Grove, Surfside Beach, Pawley's Island and Murrell's Inlet are the destinations for peace and quiet.

I recommend going to Market Common between downtown MB and Surfside. Shopping center, movie theater, great restaurants. Broadway at the Beach is meh, but seems to be popular among tourists. Towards NMB there is also a Tanger Outlet Mall, an actual shopping mall, and other small strip malls.

I go to Pawleys every year. Much prefer it to Surfside, Litchfield and MB
