If it was, do you think they'd have taken the risk/time to do it on the side of the road?

Probably dumped, but I've seen it before on back roads. It would take less than 5 minutes to cape a deer just past the shoulders and cut the head off with a sawzall

Whatever the circumstances, I hate trash that leaves carcasses on the side of the road. Even if you hit it and just want the horns, drag that shite down in to the woods. Gives hunters a bad rep.

This.
Absolutely hate when people drop carcasses off near my house. Even though I do live out in the sticks, but have a little respect for the people living right there.

Someone was riding on our land this year and heard a gun shot well before sunrise, turned the corner and dude was putting a deer in the back of his truck. Unfortunately didn't get plates, personally I would've shot a tire out

Uhh... road trophy hunting poachers?

LOL not likely man. That was a road kill that somebody took the head on because it was probably already rotten when they found it. Taking the cape was wishful thinking but hey...

I'm really not sure why you're laughing because this is the most ignorant post in this thread.

In my part of the world (N. MS), this type of thing happens all the time. And it's happened several times on my place. I've even caught the sheriff dept dispatcher on my place.

The struggle is real.

My buddy caped a big 8 the other day and threw his whole carcass off the end of a culvert. When I see him again I'm kickin his arse for being a poacher!

Well, he actually is a poacher, but he threw this one away cause he was covered in pustules.
