LSU is a great program, it's not a destination job though.

It is now. You can always count on the Rant for retarded comments, though. A few thoughts:

If you're educated and have means, Louisiana is a great place to live and your quality of life is just fine. The "quality of life" numbers for the state are skewed lower because we have a lot of poor uneducated people, too. Your $$$ goes a lot farther here than in Pasadena and the women are comparable. For the Louisianians who want to say that Louisiana women are hotter...you'll want to spend time in Pasadna first. The weather is better in Pasadena, I'll give you that.

Top 5? I would say that it is close. You have to look at infrastructure, talent base, fan base and resources. Forbes has LSU listed at #4 behind Texas, Notre Dame and Penn State. USC and Bama didn't make the list. LSU is financially independent of the university and, in fact, gives money to the university where most use university funds.

LSU is also one of the top schools from the standpoint of its recruiting base. Louisiana is not only one of the most talent-rich states, LSU is the only major state University. Teams like Alabama, Florida, Georgia and USC all have other schools in the same area.

As for facilities, LSU is second to none, and that's fact, not speculation.
