He has not signed his contract yet. Anybody have any inside info on why not? Its not possible he comes back for his senior year is it?

he might wait until the signing deadline to have the most possible leverage

he has hired an agent, he is not coming back, best of luck to him...he is hoping for about $700k bonus to sign based on where he was drafted...

I doubt he signed with an agent, tampa can use that against him as leverage
I think Tampa has already signed the majority of their 12 or so picks in first two rounds
I think Mahtook, , Guerriri, Garvin and Eirman are only ones remaining. Baseball American indicated Garvin is close to signing. Mahtook may wait on Guerriri who was signed before him to see where he falls in line bonus wise. It will get done.

Eirman
The Rays have signed 3 SS all drafted ahead of Eierman already. All three are from high school. That could bode well for LSU.

Baseball is different, in that you can work with a "draft advisor" (who can be a licensed sports agent) without compromising your amateurism.

first off, he is gone, congrats to him
that is bullshite, first rounders, especially when you have the leverage to go to college or return to college, will get over 1 million... 700k is way too low
as a family friend of the mahtook's, i know for a fact he has an agent

but, not "signed" with an agent... there is a difference brah. baseballers generally don't "sign" an agreement with an agent until a contract has been signed with a club.... it's very different than football and basketball....

he has not signed with an agent, he may have an adviser
as far as eirman he may not play ss at next level, he projects at other positions as well
