Subject: Coca-Cola United Featured on National Geographic Channel - Thursday, March 17th @ 9:00 p.m. CST
COCA-COLA BOTTLING COMPANY UNITED HIGHLIGHTED IN INTERNATIONAL DOCUMENTARY
Ultimate Factories: Coca-Cola
On Thursday evening, our Baton Rouge production facility will be featured in a documentary on the National Geographic Channel. As part of the popular program, Ultimate Factories National Geographic has produced a documentary on the making of Coca-Cola. This program takes a behind-the-scenes look at brand Coca-Cola: the history of the brand, how its flagship brand is made and packaged, and the Company’s ability to provide 1.7 billion servings a day to consumers in more than 200 countries worldwide.
Baton Rouge Coca-Cola’s production facility was selected to be featured in the program as it is considered the most state of the art facility in the U.S. and is the only LEED Certified Bottler in the U.S. (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design as designated by the U.S. Green Building Council). The program provides in-depth footage of the production process and features commentary by many local employees.
Claude Nielsen, Chairman and CEO of Coca-Cola Bottling Company United said, "As we celebrate the 125th anniversary of The Coca-Cola Company, and mark the 112th year of Coca-Cola bottling in United, we are pleased to be a central part of the National Geographic documentary on Coca-Cola bottling. This documentary, which will be aired throughout the world, is a testimony to our confidence in our business and our commitment to investing in its future. Our optimism guides us and inspires the Coca-Cola System. I trust every United associate will enjoy OUR story!"
Darian Chustz, President, Baton Rouge Coca-Cola stated, “It is a great honor for our Baton Rouge facility to have been chosen for this international documentary. We are proud of our hard-working employees that are featured in the program and of all employees that support our company every day."
Ultimate Factories: Coca-Cola will air on Thursday, March 17, at 9:00 pm CST on the National Geographic Channel.
Over the next few months, the program will reach an audience of 370 million homes in 168 countries. Following the U.S. premiere, the program will debut on the National Geographic Channel in international markets under the title MegaFactories: Coca-Cola. Currently “Mega Factories” is scheduled to air internationally in Latin America, Europe, Asia, Australia and Canada.
Please sit down with your family and friends on Thursday evening, along with some icy-cold Coke, and enjoy viewing this outstanding program about the making of Coca-Cola, filmed in one of our very own facilities!
