I might be wrong but they must of had some phenomenal coaches that year on defense. The same year David Carmona started as a red shirt freshman, they also had the #1 defense in the SEC and 11th in the nation. He was also the most active and productive DT. The Tiger Rag named him the Tasmanian Devil. So is recruiting about size or productivity? Lynn Amedee’s offense killed them that year. It created an ESPN highlight for #1 Auburn with 4 interceptions after Phil Bennett’s defense held them to 3 points.
