For the same rational reason given by a work associate.
"We had to do something to get rid of Trump."
Because he acted mean and unpolished, and hurt people with those caustic tweets.
He wasn't like other candidates the RNC has given us to choose from over the years - pleasant melds of Locke, Burke, W.J. Bryan, Montesquieu, and Churchill.
So what if it's one more chip off the Republic's shelf life.
It was the morality we on the Left exude, and refusal to compromise our principles under any condition.
We thought we were on the cusp of our millenium after 8 years of Obama and that his successor was a sure thing, so we mistakenly didn't show up in enough numbers to put Hillary in.
It wasn't going to happen to us twice.
We welcome our rational, aware, principled brothers and sisters on the so-called Right who join with us in our most noble undertaking ever, keeping him from even attempting to run again.
So we can keep these present Days of Wine and Roses going.
