Anyone ever experienced this?
Time table for recovery?

Most often, the ligament is strained when the thumb is jammed backwards and out to the side, but strains can occur on any side of the thumb.

Most of my pain is in the palm of my hand. Reduced strength when twisting.

Would like to get back to playing golf ASAP. There is certainly discomfort, but trying to decide if I should rest it, or continue life as normal.

blasted my thumb like that 1998 skiing squaw valley. broke a bone in there. it was in a splint for i think 10 weeks. honestly it took at least a year before it felt right. for 10 more years once a month or so i'd grab something the wrong way, resulting in blinding pain

hopefully yours is much less severe

I’ve jacked my thumb up several times from skiing, most recently this past January in Aspen.

I slept with an OTC thumb brace for a while and tried to limit some activities for a couple of weeks.

This time was the worst ever, thumb is still slightly swollen. I’ve lost strength in that grip to the point that I have to open jars with my other hand.

It’s not fun - good luck.
