While I agree with the logic, you don't quit, but look at how these young kids are treated these days. Sometimes they really don't have a choice. Simone may have finally gotten to the point to break free.
Think about the travel ball. Little Brayden may not even like baseball but he is good at it at 10 years old.
Think about college football. A kid happens to be 6-4, 260 lbs in 8th grade. Never played football, HS coach talks him into playing 8th grade and he wrecks everybody. Florida rolls around and gives him a offer. The kid get put on a train that he probably won't get off until he gets kicked off.
Parents go crazy, a lot of Hype, kid may not like it but he is big and great. He will coast through HS. Top 10 recruit. Gets to college, his heart still isn't in it, skill and size catch up with him. He struggles and drops out. His final stretch on the train is to then spend 2 years or more listening to everyone talk about the latest bust.
