The exception may be steamed Mid Atlantic crabs. They traditionally load them up with Old Bay seasoning and makes them pretty spicy. I prefer this style of crab when compared to boiled.
Lobster and littleneck clams are awesome too, if a bit bland.
IMHO the seafood is better from the gulf.
