The last 3 years are an anomaly. Louisiana, although extremely talented per capita, just doesnt have enough volume of SEC difference makers that can produce 9+ win seasons every year.
LSU wants to be able to win recruiting battles in Texas, Florida and Georgia while locking down Louisiana. That is the winning formula. Cherry picking a few national recruits may now turn into must get several national recruits in order to dominate. This is easier said than done.
Anyone doubting that Texas and OU coming into the SEC will change the recruiting dynamic for LSU is mistaken.
LSU used to be on the far Southwest border of the SEC and had a strategical advantage of not being boxed in. And had talent rich Texas, expecially Houston, right down the road. A&M was winning a few battles each year like it was, especially with Fisher most recently.
Excuses are for losers and LSU must and will adapt but those 2 new powerhouses arriving will present challenges including locking Louisiana players away from the newcomers, gumps and A&M, which is even more negatively affected by this than the Tigers.
Dont have a couple of bad years in a row at their expense......
Winning cures everything.

Excellent post man , seriously. Only thing I can add to that is 2 years ago we lost Northshore School in Houston. We had 2 very pro LSU coaches there. No longer true, each have left for Head coaching jobs @ smaller Texas schools. Last I heard, unsure if still there , they were replaced by Gumps that Sabin had a hand in getting the job. I know we have lots of local Houston TIGAHS on this board, maybe one of y’all can take this info a little further?? Would be appreciated..
