Hell, I was able to get over with that format. They even allowed you to let fans download mp3s of the songs, and write your own HTML
Then parents got on and lamed it up

Same thing with Facebook.
It used to be college friends posting actual status updates.
"We're having a party this weekend"
"Who wants to go on a road trip?"
"Does anyone have an Intro to Philosophy book I can buy?"
Then moms signed up and started posting pictures of their food and sharing Jesus memes. "One like = one prayer"
I quit using it completely in 2015 haven't missed it at all.
