So, I haven't bought a gaming system since the playstation. Yes, the first one.

I saw that the "Jasper" model came out for the XBox 60gb system and the price was cut. What is the deal with Jasper and should I get an XBox instead of the Wii or PS3?

Throw the Wii out of the window.

Which one to get depends on your primary purpose.

If you are looking for a Blu-Ray player and gaming system get the PS3. The PS3 has a better graphics, but the limit is up to the gaming programer. Most games look the same on the PS3 and the Xbox 360. There are games that look a lot clearer on the PS3. The PS3 has less games out at the current time than the Xbox 360 and used games cost a little more. The online play for the PS3 in not as good as the one for the Xbox 360. The PS3 online is free. The PS3 comes with wireless built in. It coms with a browser so you can surf the internet.

The Xbox 360 is a gaming console. It doe not have Blu-Ray play back. It will play standard DVD. It has much more games to chose from than the PS3. It also has plenty of quality games at a lower price and used games are a little cheaper. The online play is second to none. You do have to pay $50.00 a year but is well worth it. You will have to pay for a WiFi adapter $99.99 for the Xbox if you want to play wireless over the internet. No internet browser.

If you are a sports gamer and will like to play online you need to think hard at your choice. All sports games play the same on both systems. The graphics on a few of them are better on the PS3. Online play I find is easier and better on the Xbox. If baseball is your top gaming sport MLB 08 The Show is only on PS3 and is the best ever to come out.

I have all three systems, Wii, PS3 and the Xbox 360. All have different features that make them unique. Please read up on what they have to offer. I play my Xbox 360 the most followed by the PS3 and then the Wii. My young daughter (11yo) plays the Wii the most. My son (15yo) plays the Xbox 360 the most.

Thanks LSU Delts. I am torn between more games versus blue-ray. I also heard some people say that the online play is better with the PS3. I can't make a damn decision.

Is blue-ray really that much better?

Blu-Ray is nice but right now DVD is more than adequate. Really the only reason I have a PS3 right now is because my friend sold me his for real cheap. Now the PS3 is a great system but I don't play it nearly as much as I play my 360. The PS3 isn't better online. Sure it's free but the 360 blows away the PS3 away when it comes to online play. That may change when Sony releases Home but right now that's the way it is. Also the cost of Xbox Live is very minimal. Last December I bought a 13 month Live card for $28.99 you can find deals online for less than $50 a year.

Yes it is because it is a higher resolution. Remember now that the movies are higher in price than a regular DVD. I was beginning to start buying my movies in Blu-Ray, but the cost stopped me. It also cost more to rent Blu-Ray from Blockbuster than standard DVD.

Stop the madness and just buy both the Xbox 360 Elite and the PS3. Give up that grand. You will get something from each.

P.S. If you buy the Xbox make sure it has a HDMI output if you plan on using that to connect to your tv. The older models and lower end models don't have it.

The Xbox 360 is it then.
