That's not the language of serious people. It's the language of individuals in college who need coloring time in their safe space and is pretty much based on the demonization of men. I'm not saying I'd put up with a church that acted that way, but pretending there's some legitimate long term damage from it is silly. That stuff goes flying around the OT every day. No one cares.

I agree somewhat. Some are crying out for their money back, 15 years later... but that signed up for a program and got said program. Idk why they think they’d get money.

I don’t know about that. Mentally they should recover just fine, but as far as their relationship with God and faith is concerned, I can see some real damage that can occur from it, if not long term, then certainly in the immediate future. That is where the damage really occurs IMO, giving young people a very false perception and understanding of the relationship between themselves and God. That may be worse than anything, as it has the very real potential to drive people from a relationship with Him instead of drawing them to a real relationship with Him.
