so Alleva probably felt right at home."

Now that's a damn fine line, even if it did come at our expense.

quote:

That much was clear by halftime. LSU sold 91,922 tickets. The Tiger Stadium crowd fell considerably short of that, with empty seats scattered through most rows, and the 31-0 score encouraged customers to leave in droves. Perhaps half stayed around for the third period, and then the student population in one end zone dwindled to a smattering of bodies occupying lots of aluminum seats. It looked like a Duke football crowd, so Alleva probably felt right at home.

Last year, the average Duke crowd would not have sold out Cameron Indoor Stadium ... I kid you not.

I would say the same, until i flip over to see florida beating hawaii 56-0 and the stadium is packed to capacity. People can say the hurricane made people leave early, but this has certainly happened in the past when LSU takes a comfortable lead the stadium clears out faster than edwards at a family first convention.

Convenient thing for someone to say from all the way over in VA beach this weekend.

People had every reason to stay home, or to leave early, with the hurricane coming. No knock at all on the LSU crowd for that - they had plans to make.

I just thought it was clever reference to Alleva coming from Duke, made me chuckle. I took it as poking fun at Duke, not LSU, as the article explained the circumstances the game was played in.

I don't blame people for leaving or even arriving far more important things going on at this moment than football. It's just this is not the only time the stadium will clear out once lsu has a good lead on an opponent. It has happened before and will happen again.

It happens at stadiums all over the country, not just at LSU. Give it a rest.

It was fricking hot.
There was a monster in the Gulf.
We were dominating Appy like it was some kind of feminist porno.

I don't blame people for leaving. But I stayed until the end.
