how many teams have enough speed on defense to match up with D-Byrd, Lafell, Mitchell(s), and TT all on the field at once?

it might be a lot to ask from a 1st yr starter at QB. plus it seems like LSU is asking our QB to be game managers and let the run game dictate the pace of the offense.

Why would LSU want to run the spread like Missouri? I think that ball control and the ability to run and pass is a much more devastating attack than the spread. Not to mention you would lose recruits who don't want to play in a non pro system.

How many players does Texas Tech and Mizzou have in the NFL vs. LSU? When was the last national champ a spread offense like Mizzou. Don't say Florida, because that isn't the same offense.

Wasnt that what we ran when Lee was in the game? Looked exactly like the Missouri offense...with the no huddle look to the sideline for the play...

I think Lee is gonna run that alot this year...he is way more comfortable in the shotgun.

If we had Chase Daniel , we would be #1 beyond a shadow of a doubt.

We don't have the qb's to run the spread like missouri. Why would we want to run an unbalanced attack with the ground game we have?

Sure they could, but I maintain the spread has a serious problem for most teams that run it. They can't play ball control. They have no way of eating up the clock in a close game.

not an expert, but i think the spread is suppose to makes up for a lack of speed and talent.

I dont think we should run it the whole game...but it's a nice change of pace and something to give the opposition to worry about. LSU is pounding it between the tackles and running some options and some play actions and generally grinding it out....and then all of a sudden Lee comes in with the no-huddle spread. I like the change of pace..

I agree. He's not much more physically talented than Hatch or Lee, but dude's a gamer. I really like watching him play.

We should run it enough to set up playaction and create some 1 on 1 coverage with the defense stacking against the run

so lee can stare down dickson and throw into triple coverage

lsu has such a complex offense that we dont have to run the missouri type spread. they dont have the back we do or the talent on the o line to pound it. Crowtons offense is all about options. we can spread it and throw all over the field or pound and play ball control. it spreads the focus to every player on the field which gives defenses fits. with missou if you take out daniels, you stop their offense. not so with us.

Daniel is way more physically talented than you're giving him credit for. As a college QB, he reminds me a lot of Drew Brees at Purdue. Except Daniel is a better runner.

yes, i actually enjoy the fact that crowton hasn't turned us into Oregon or Texas tech. I enjoy watching lsu line it up and physically pound an opposing defense then turn around and spread the defense with 5 wide and let the playmakers on the outside make plays.

Daniel is a great college qb but i feel he would fold if he played a tough physical defense such as lsu, florida georgia. Oklahoma kind of exploited that twice last year.

I guess redshirt freshmen should not have any shortcomings...thanks for that insight.

Very true with regard to Oklahoma shutting down Mizzou. But I think every QB in the country would look bad if his schedule was LSU, Oklahoma, Florida, Auburn.

There's no question that the Big XII right now is an offense-driven conference, as opposed to the SEC or the ACC, both of which are more defense-driven.

Just saying it was clear to everybody. How can we run a spread offense with lee when he is not ready at this point of his career.
