I watched how someone got sober but he’s tired of having the “sober” attached to him. Does that make sense? Not trying to get in your business but letting go of being “sober” has to be freeing.

kinda like he doesn't want that to define him? That would make sense. You just want the people in your life to treat you normal and go about their normal business when you are around. It sucks when you feel people are walking on egg shells around you.

Yep. I just hold on a liquid death which looks like beer. Everyone drinks in my family.

Yeah you gotta nip that one in the bud from the get go. In the beginning I had people not drinking in front of me or acting skittish around me if I walked up on them drinking, like I was gonna fall off the wagon right there. That gets old quick. Every now and then I'll have somebody ask me if it bothers me and I still can't stand that. It's like, do your thing and I'll do mine and we're both still good. I can appreciate the concern but at the same time I never put myself in a predicament in which I can't escape. And it's not so much being around people drinking that bothers me as much as I don't like being around people who are blasted because it's not fun if you're not right there with them. It's annoying, actually. I'm usually in the first wave that goes home from wedding receptions these days. Me, maw maw and paw paw all leave the same time.
