Even then the wheels don't just suddenly fall off after 15 years of worry-free driving. Older cars start nickle and diming you with repairs, especially if you aren't handy enough to do them yourself.

Anyway, cars aren't an investment, they are a service. How much are you willing to pay every year to get from A to B with a certain level of comfort and reliability?
