I'm looking to remodel the kitchen in the next few months and have come to the realization that I need help from a pro to actually design and present a layout. I will need to install a 20'+ laminated beam to remove a load bearing wall so I need someone liscenced.
Anyone have an idea of what a design costs and if anyone has recommendations of designer in the Ascension, BR area?

Have you hired a contractor yet? Most of them have a structural engineer or architect that they can recommend.
A lot of it depends on what they’re doing? Is it just the beam? Are you moving plumbing lines? Is it slab or elevated? There’s a lot of factors man

No, I have not. I want to get a design and then get a few bids.

They’ll be able to offer you some advice on which design will work the best for you. Especially with electrical, gas and water lines.
They’ll be able to give a very good estimate usually in a few days if not immediately.
Make sure snd get a minimum of 3 quotes and references.
From there you can bring in an engineer and tell him exactly what you want to do. Usually they’ll spend an hour or so looking at it and your good to go.
The other way is going to be a pain in the arse
