Don't go until you check all the COVID restrictions. One couple just last week was denied entry because the state didn't have the MAYO clinic on their list of acceptable testing partners. THE MAYO CLINIC?
Yeah, Hawaii is a mess right now.

Their site pretty clearly states their approved testing centers. Seems like that couple should have checked first
We’re going to Maui in early April. Staying at the Grand Wailea and Hyatt Hana. There’s tons of great stuff to do or you can just relax. The Andaz is great honeymoon spot — Recently updated, nice pools, fairly quiet beach front.
Mama’s fish house is a great honeymoon dinner.
Road to Hana is worth it. There are tons of great YouTube videos on the various stops along the way. It’s too much to do in one day, so you either have to pick your spots or stay in Hana. Check out some videos to see what tickles your fancy.
If you go in Dec-May, you can go whale watching.
Go snorkeling with sea turtles.
Check out sunrise and/or sunset at haleakala national park. You can rent a bike and ride down, too
There’s a ton of good hiking on both sides of the island.
Try your hand at surfing or body surfing.
