Texas artificially created a barrier for supply-side entry in times of high demand by segregating their grid.
If you frick with the free market and artificially restrict it from performing naturally — like providing additional supply during high demand — then you need to also artificially regulate the price of that supply when it gets depleted.
I don’t think there needed to be consumer protection here — these people fricked up. There needed to be market protection because TX artificially limited the supply and hindered the free market.
