Today I went to the post office on Marilyn just off of Florida near the new McDonald’s.
I needed stamps for the first time in over a year. There used to be a vending machine to weigh packages and pay for postage or to get stamps.
The inside of PO looks like an abandoned 60s TG&Y.
Trashy, torn up and smashed lockers from when a car drove through the storefront.
I said out loud that this must be the crappiest place in Baton Rouge.
Around the corner was an old lady with her poodle. She commented about how the lockers were damaged.
I said that I was sorry for my comment, then told her that the place should be bulldozed to the ground.
They could leave the debris to match the rest of the town.
With the coming construction of the new Amazon distribution center we might obtain a honorable mention to Detroit.

I lived on Marilyn while in elementary school in the mid 70's. As early as the first grade, friends and I would walk home without parents from Broadmoor Elementary. Great place to grow up.
And oddly enough, there was indeed a TG&Y in that shopping center at the time. The Broadmoor Theatre and a Tic-Toc shoes was there as well.
