Coaching the DL while your DC is a DB coach is not getting in the way. He can still let his coaches coach and be involved in the DL. Yall forget that he is still regarded as one of the best DL coaches in the country, why wouldn't you want him involved there?

His disaster at Ole Miss was dictating every move to his coaches.

Also, if you were really paying attention in 2019. He got heavily involved after the Ole Miss game and after that game the defense had more sacks, turnovers, held Mond, Fromm, Hurts, and Lawrence all individually under 50% completion % and statistically was a top 3 defense from that point.
