When you do get one to give you a decent quote and you hire him, then you get the next step. Which is them not showing up on days they tell you they will be there to work...or showing up at 1PM when they tell you they will be there at 8AM.

Older guy I know who flips houses says it is damn near impossible to get subs who are reliable and consistent. He's been doing this for 35 years (before it became a fad side hustle) and said it has gotten exponentially worse in the past 15 years. Mainly due to substance abuse and general lack of responsibility among the younger contractors.

50% of the problem is cocksucker GCs. Stop nickle and diming TF out of your subs and they might show up on time and do a decent job.
